New door installation
New door installation, but first of all you need to choose a metal door. The most reliable option for a home, but there are many options for metal doors. Let’s consider what factors affect their reliability – these are design features and production technologies used.

Features of steel entrance doors
Thickness of the door leaf. A thicker leaf provides greater door strength. It is better to choose models with a thickness of 1.2-2 mm.
Stiffeners. Strengthen the door structure. There are several types: longitudinal or vertical, transverse or horizontal, as well as combined – vertical, horizontal and inclined.
Number of panels. Usually, this is an outer and inner panel.
Door frame. Reliable protection is provided by the strength of the panel and the design of the frame. A U-shaped steel frame with a thickness of up to 0.5 cm is best suited.
Additional security systems: hinges, anti-removal pins. Hinges include conventional, ball, safe and options with support bearings. Their number is affected by the dimensions, thickness of the metal and types of finishes.
Anti-removal pins are located on the end of the door in special holes – there should be 2-4 of them.
Thermal insulation. Without external wooden panels or other decorative finishes, ice and frost can form on the metal surface. Such doors will not be able to effectively protect from the cold if their design does not include insulation.
For outdoor entrance doors, it is important to have an internal layer of insulation – this can be mineral wool, polystyrene foam, foam rubber or other suitable materials.
Exterior finish. Depends on the architectural nuances of the entrance to the house. The external finish of the door is resistant to aggressive environmental influences – such as hail, various precipitation, sudden temperature changes and direct sunlight.
New door installation our advice
It is better not to choose an outdoor door with an external covering made of wood and other chip materials. They quickly deform, swell from moisture in a few months. The best alternative is finishing with hammer paint.
