Basement construction
Basement construction – the construction of a residential basement. A residential basement in a private house should be designed in such a way that it is comfortable and safe to stay in for a long time, which means that it must take into account the following elements:
Thermal insulation. First of all, it must be warm, which means that during construction it must be properly insulated and finished in the same way as a residential floor of the building would be finished. All elements of the basement, including the floor, walls and even the ceiling, are insulated and processed using suitable building materials.
It must be taken into account that heat loss in the basement is no less than on higher floors. As a rule, standard thermal insulation compounds are insufficient to achieve a comfortable temperature in the room, so basements are often equipped with additional heat sources, such as batteries, that is, water heating, or heated floors.
Ventilation. One of the main problems of basements is poor ventilation, which is usually represented by several small windows. To arrange a living space in the basement, additional ventilation is required, which can also cost the owner of a country house quite a lot.
Protection from water and moisture. Water leaks or excessive humidity will not allow you to use a residential basement for a long time, moreover, they can destroy the room’s decoration, furniture and equipment.

Basement construction – a technical basement in the house
A technical room differs from other types of basements, first of all, in its purpose. Such a space is intended for placing communications leading to a private house. Communications located in the basement space include water supply and sewerage elements, electrical cables and wires, components of ventilation systems and some other equipment.
At the design stage of a technical basement, it is extremely important to draw up a complete description of all the rooms in the house and their sizes. Also, the technical room must necessarily meet the requirements established in the documentation of a particular region. As a rule, such documentation is approved by local authorities.
Sometimes the residents of the house decide to organize a boiler room in the basement. This is an excellent way to properly arrange the free space, since in this case the pipes, radiators and chimney will take up much less space in the residential area, that is, on the ground floors of the building. It is important to understand that the maintenance and repair of communications requires full access so that people responsible for the operation of the equipment installed in the technical basement can easily get into the room. That is why a full-fledged passage with a hatch or door should be organized in the technical basement, where a person can go without any problems.
